Yes, but we don’t recommend it. The business address on your Articles of Organization or Trade Name application will go on the public record. Anyone will be able to find it by searching the Colorado Business Database. At worst this is a safety hazard. At best you’ll just receive a mountain of junk mail.
Using a digital mail forwarding service is an affordable and convenient way to get a business address you can use in place of your home address.
Yes, as long as the virtual address is connected to a real, physical street address in Colorado. The business address you get from us belongs to our office building in Denver, which we own, so you can use it as a physical address on state forms.
If you need a physical mail document sent to you, you can request it for a small fee plus the cost of shipping. Generally, the fee is $9 if you have Mail Scanning or Virtual Service, and $15 if you do not.
We will keep accepting and scanning your mail even if you go over your limit. To view additional mail scans, you’ll need to pay a $15 per document fee. You can also upgrade to Premium Mail Scanning or Virtual Office if you get more mail than you expected. Virtual Office includes unlimited mail scans.
With Phone Service, you get a dedicated business phone number (with a local area code!) that you can use with your existing cell phone. Just download our free US-based Android or iOS app. Includes unlimited talk and text, call forwarding to any US number, and Visual Voicemail (transcribes voicemails into text).
When you order Mail Scanning, you can try Phone Service free for 90 days (then $9/month until cancelled). Phone Service is INCLUDED with Virtual Office.
You can add Mail Scanning as an add-on service when you order business formation or registered agent service. Mail Scanning is also available as a standalone service.
While most of our clients are business owners, you can also get Mail Scanning for your personal mail. Simply select “Individual” instead of “Business” on the order form.
A Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) is a private service that offers real physical addresses and mail forwarding for clients. Colorado Registered Agent is a USPS-registered CMRA, which is why we can offer Mail Scanning and Virtual Office services.
To authorize us as your CMRA, you’ll need to fill out PS Form 1583 after ordering Mail Scanning or Virtual Office service. On the form, you’ll need to provide:
- Full name
- Residential address
- Photo ID
- Proof of address
The USPS requires each customer to complete this form, but we make it as easy as possible. You can fill out Form 1583 directly in your client portal, and we’ll verify it and send it to the USPS. Simple as that!
