It depends. Local zoning laws or home owner’s association rules sometimes prohibit home addresses being used for business. Even if you technically can use your home address as your business address, it’s usually not a great idea. Business documents like Articles of Organization and Trade Name applications go on the public record, so anyone will be able to look up your business address online. Using a virtual office lets you avoid sharing your home address.
Yes, as long as the virtual mailbox is a physical street address. (P.O. boxes are not accepted as physical business addresses.) With our Virtual Office service, you get a real, physical business address in our Denver office building, including your own unique suite number. You can use this as your business address pretty much anywhere, including on your Articles of Organization or Incorporation, or on your social media, website, and business cards.
Yes. By default, we digitally forward your mail to your online account, but if you need the physical document, we can forward it to you for $9 + the cost of postage.
We will keep accepting and scanning your mail even if you go over your limit. To view additional mail scans, you’ll need to pay a $15 per document fee. You can also upgrade to Premium Mail Forwarding or Virtual Office if you get more mail than you expected. Virtual Office includes UNLIMITED mail scans.
A Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA) is a private business registered with the USPS to provide mail forwarding services. As a registered CMRA, we can provide real, USPS-verified business addresses for our clients.
After you order Virtual Office or Mail Scanning, you’ll be directed to fill out PS Form 1583 in your client account. Form 1583 is a USPS requirement, and you’ll need to provide:
- Full name
- Residential address
- Photo ID
- Proof of address
After we have all the needed information, we’ll get your form verified and send it to the USPS on your behalf. Easy peasy!
Our virtual phone service lets you send calls and texts from a dedicated business phone number (with a local area code of your choice) without needing to buy a second phone. You simply download our free app (compatible with US-based iPhone and Android devices) and create an account. Phone service includes unlimited talk and text, call forwarding to any US number, and Visual Voicemail (transcribes voicemails as text).
